Hi all, just settled down

Postby donkeynomad » Sat Dec 22, 2007 11:53 am

Hi everyone,
My name is Rowan. I have spent the last 20 years travelling Southern Australia on foot with my pack donkeys and have now decided to settle down and do something else with the rest of my life.
I really miss the donkeys and camping but I now go out when I can and like ultra light camping (lucky the weather is mild here in Western Victoria).
Looking foreward to discussions here.
Cheers,
Rowan

Welcome Rowan.

Most people have tekn off on holidays so you might find it a bit quiet here at the moment, so don't be a alarmed, but everyone should be back in the new year.

I have to ask why pack donkeys? Got any pics?
Never argue with a fool! They drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!

Hi Rowan. Welcome to the site.

Where abouts in Western Victoria are you? I'm in Horsham in the Wimmera.
Cheers,

Hi Henry,
I'm now living at Casterton, not too far away. Thanks everyone for your warm welcome, I will post a couple of pics later but I don't really have a lot of interesting stories to tell.
TroyK, I chose pack donkeys because they are so reliable and easy to get along with, walk at a nice 'people pace' and don't need extra feed (they thrive on the weeds on the side of the road).

Cheers,
Rowan
