Is Cape York worth the travel? Is is an anti climax? What is there to see and do. We are planing a trip to leave in mid May from Melbourne and have heard different stories.

All I have heard is great opinions of it, and plan on definately doing it one day. But I love 4x4ing so i think it'd be worth the trip just for that.

Also depends what you want out of the trip ... ie. what do you want to achieve?

I am with Scolers here, I did the trip in 04 and loved it would leave again tomorrow if I could get out of work! We went for the driving we just wanted to do all the hard stuff like the Pascoe, Gunshot etc. If your in it for the fishing you would probably take the easy tracks to get to the fishing spots quicker.

If you can tell us what sort of vehicle and what are your interests are I can help you out on where to go.
