maybe... I generally like to keep control of what I put up so usually use my own ISP.

I do like reading holiday and travel reports/blogs.

I think if it costs nothing and is not much trouble to manage, I'd say yes, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

How is it different from someone just posting up their own thread in the relevant section, and continually updating it?

And if they don't want anyone to make replies, just mention that in the first post. You can still add pics and video into threads.

If it's going to create work for someone or cost money, then probably wisest to leave it. There are plenty of 'Blogger.com' type sites people can use for free, which possibly have more functionality and flexibility; then if they want to share them, they can put the url in their signatures or as WWW homepage in their profiles.

I have had a private blog for family stuff for a long time (v. boring), but it's nice for me to read back sometimes and great for family overseas to keep up to date with what we're up to and share some photos.

I couldn't vote either..but I'd vote no as I already have a personal blog.

but it is a great idea for those with out blogs already ...providing it's free.
