I think this is the best way.....if you go all out and head straight into the boonies, experience bad weather etc - future camping = zero.
Get familiar with camping, camp cooking, what makes you feel comfortable, take a walk and go round and check out others set-ups etc and make a list of things that you may need for the next trip.
That's how I did it and it worked for me!
