Posting Pics

Can someone please advise me on how to reduce the size of pics before posting...

One that I have just posted is fine but the second is huge and blows right out.

Many thanks.

You need to resize it with a photo editing program. you probably got one with your camera, theres plenty free on the web. I use http://www.irfanview.com/

I use Picasa Will which reduces the size of the pics and it worked for the first one but not the second one.

Ahh. picasa is a bit weird how it saves changes it doesn't save the change to the image, instead it creates a list of changes so each time the image is reopened it temporarily makes the changes. which I guess could potentially be a bit of a problem exporting to a site or another program.

If you have Windows XP have a look at Microsoft Image Resizer. It's free.

There are details on how to use it on my site at http://www.aussiecampovenforum.com/cgi- ... 069777/4#4

It was Will and thanks a heap. It was abit daunting when I saw the size of the second one. One of the other forums that I belong to has a thumbnail option which is what I was looking for but it seems somewhat elusive.

I love looking at pics myself so presume that there are probably others out there who feel just the same.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Will check that out but for the moment have managed just by sending the pics to myself through Picasa, that reduced the size and solved the problem.
