Easter is the busiest weekend of the year for AD Park, it is the one weekend of the year that I stay away. They usually have upwards of 600 there over the easter weekend.

Hope it is not too busy for you and that you have a great time.

I hate busy spots and expressed concern to my Parents and wife who were keen to go, but they all wanted to go still so there isnt much choice for me...

Guess the only thing on our side is that we are going down on Thursday so may beat the rush a little and get a decent spot

We'll take our own shower and toilet as well which might also make things a little easier to cope with (I hope)

That will certainly improve your chances but there will still be a lot of people with the same idea in mind.

Yes taking your own toilet/shower will improve things considerably for you.

It is definitely cold up there in the mountains but if you don't mind the cold it is fabulous.

Love sitting by the campfire in the brisk morning with a hot cuppa watching the sun come up behind one mountain and shining across to the other, very picturesque....

Normal long weekends are ok, it is just easter that is really a bad one.

Hi all and seasons greetings.
I am the assistant manager/caretaker of Andrew Drynan Park (camping reserve) and opened a forum "Andrew Drynan Park" to bring everyone wanting to come here (and those that have) up-to-date on whats going on.
Thank you "gypselady" for bringing this forum to my attention!
The park is leased from National Parks by Beaudesert Council and on-leased to Ranger Barry Moran who has lived here for 37 years. His family owned the the dairy here, now defunct.
Barry has run the park for 8 yrs. and has/is trying to up-date facilities but always needs council approval which takes forever and a day.
Wood IS $10 per 1/4 44gal drum load.
We have introduced "Oztrail" show stalls and solar showers that can be hired.
During Xmas/New Yr. we had many c'vans (including a 21ft Bushtraker owned by Bob a grey nomad) who had no problems negotiating the road and bridges from Rathdowney. Campers and tents where the main visitors though because of the Main Roads signs outside Rathdowney still showing a height limit at the NSW border...which no longer exists...and a no c'van truck sign. The more adventurous...and those that ask at Rathdowney come on anyway. The 4km to the border though is for experienced drivers .
Anyway it would be great to see you here, I live on site...so come up and say "HI" if you visit.

Hi Peter

Are the shower recesses up permanently or as required?? And what is the cost to hire the solar showers??
