Hi All,

My name is Salzo and I stumbled across your website last weekend as i searched for a bush camping site with reasonable amenities, within 3 hrs travel from Camden (sth wst Sydney).

We (family = me & missus, 16b, 14b, 6g & 4b kids) have been frequent visitors to Coolendel (30km west of Nowra) and love the open areas, amenities (with the kids), wildlife and camp fires, but is has really become expensive and are on the lookout for a similar site.

My search on your site found an area near Ulladulla called "Shallow River Crossing", just wondering if anyone has been there before and can give it a rap ?

My boys and i are heading down to Pretty Beach (caravan Park camping) over Easter, not the preferred option, however, until we find a good site it gives us the fix we need and could do a reccy then if required !

love the site,

all feedback appreciated.

cheers Salzo.

G'day Slazo!!!

I used to fly at Camdem but that was when the place was a town in its own right and not a far flung suburb of Sydney.

Enjoy the forums!

Hi & welcome!

Shallow Crossing is a lovely spot. Went there some time ago with our old 4WD club - it has a large grassy site, fires allowed, in a beautiful area, beside a creek and hot showers too! I've heard it is still a popular place to go as well....
When's my next holiday??

What a fantastic spot this is for warmer weather camping - great swimming, peaceful surrounds and canoes for hire. upstream from the crossing is very scenic for a peaceful paddle or some fishing (Bass). The campgrounds are a private enterprise and even provide toilet facilities and hot showers. Sheltered table are also available.
Check the grounds out on:
