Qld- Borumba Deer Park Imbil

Postby Bella » Wed Oct 24, 2007 9:20 pm

Just came back from a 3 night camp from here. What a great place for families, took the kids bikes, playground was very entertaining for the children as there is lots of old fashion playground equipment eg. old fashioned merry-go-round, the type you definately don't find in council parks  The camp kitchen was great it had an instant boil hot water system and a microwave (which was handy as the dry ice had frozen some of my meat). The Yabba Creek was also great, some really nice rapid part that my kids aged 6 & 8 quite happliy played in for ages building a dam wall. We camped up in the sports paddock which is directly opposite the deer and emu's. It is only a 50m walk to the amenities block and the same distance to the camp kitchen, very handy. The site down near the creek are also good. Very kid friendly and most people who drive into the camping grounds are very aware of this.

Any pics? :)

Thinking of somewhere to go for a few days in the new year, that the kids will enjoy.

You need to post them through a hosting site like Photobucket.

This post explains
http://forum.camping.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1088

Once the photo is in photobucket, you just click on the IMG code line (thats all you have to do) and then Ctrl V into post.

See how you go.

Hey Troy I did it  thanks for the instructions.

Daniel, I really loved this camp, I even persuaded my mum to come with us for a night. It is her BMW in the back ground LOL. She was only staying one night only, but decided to stay for the 2nd, though she was off fairly quick after breaky. I think the Sports Paddock is great as it is so close to everything.
The water in the creek where they have the canoes was not too bad. Up in the shallows it is really clear. I actually have a photo of that. Have a great time up there. Cannot wait to go again.
Cheers

Hey Bella

Did you see the platypus (es) ?

Great camping down on the river bank section.

No Cruzin, didn't see any platypus, I agree that camping down by the creek side would be great, probably much cooler in the height of summer.

That looks great! By the looks there is a older part and newer parts, But it still goes to show even old parks well maintained is a pleasure to go too.

There is a walk and some climbing to do to see Platapus. Sitting and waiting quietly early morning and late afternoon .

Have to agree

Some things you do not expect, like the paper towel dispenser near the BBQ, Also there was a herb garden when we were there. Great place to camp .
