If the places are posted quite possibly others have been there and can give some info, you may not have to put yourself to so much trouble and Recon the whole lot yourself GL.

Still nothing on June?
GL :hello: , you know what I reckon?
Unless you give the masses some clues, you might be going to all this trouble to just be camping by yourself!
On the other hand, people might just be curious enough to join you......... ::()

How about we give her another week, as she hasn't been on here for a while, though she could be doing her recon. She did say she would enlighten us after Easter. :)

I'm sure GL will have some great spots on a short list! maybe till we know where, we could discuss when. That way we could organise our work/life commitments and have that part done.

I agree. I've had to miss the last two and will miss the April one due to prior committments, so don't want to dip out this time around, but June is now only another 2 months away and already things are being slotted into the calendar.

Originally I was thinking the Queens Birthday long weekend, especially if there is a fair distance to travel, but if its close we can go a normal weekend.

Added a poll at the top. Will only last 7 days so please vote!

I chose the long weekend, otherwise people who finish work late on fridays and dont get there till the saturday mornings would only get a single night

My suggestions for the June gathering are as follows:

North

Rossmore Park at Kilkivan http://www.kilkivancampingcaravans.info/

Barambah Bush Caravan Park http://www.barambahbush.com.au/

South

Andrew Drynan Park Lions Road Rathdowny

Tamborine Mountain Caravan & Camping http://www.tamborine.info

Levuka Rainforest http://www.levuka.com.au

South West

Goomburra Valley Campground http://www.goomburravalleycampground.com.au/

Sommerville Valley at Stanthorpe http://www.sommervillevalley.com.au

Nice list GL, they all look pretty good (only one I would take out is the goomburra because sept is in that vicinity). Which one is your first preference?

I wasn't able to access Rossmore Park, but all the others looked pretty good. I'd be leaning away from the 2 South West choices simply due to the time of year. Stanthorpe in winter can get below zero easily. I don't mind camping in the cooler weather, but temperatures hovering around the zero mark aren't particularly inviting.

I rather like the idea of Tamborine, as it gives quite a few options of things to do out and about from the camp itself - bushwalking, winery visits, craft shops etc.

Thank you Will and yes, I did see that but I personally still would not discount it as a possibility. The 2 places are very different.

Goomburra Valley is smallish private campground and a good location for a winter camp for those who are a little reticent about winter camping.

These are only suggestions, the ultimate decision will no doubt be up to the members and/or Troy.
