A newie to this forum, just saying hi

Postby Tanks1966 » Fri May 16, 2008 9:15 am

G'day to all, Im a Victorian, happily married since 1991, I have 2 kids 6 and 2, Im aged 42. In my youth I would go out for up to 6 weeks in the bush during school holidays.
I must say I have become a softie of late, I take a full trailer load now which is towed by a Ford station wagon. In my youth I had a 2 door mazda 121 and it had all my gear in it. Times change.
Im seriously considering a camper trailer next. My wife is getting to a stage where she requires more comfort.
I love camping beside a river (Murray or Edward River my Favourites) or lake.
I love sitting next to my rod and having a VB or 2 or 8.
My latest trip was to Murrandindi National Park, it was an overnighter really (ANZAC day weekend), the tent got saturated, it is a 1979 canvas. If you have facebook, join me as your friend and view some of my camping escepades. Just search Tom Guljas if you wish.
Anyway I could dribble on and on and on, but I better not bore you people.
Thanks for your time in reading my comments.
tent which I should retire.

Hi Tanks1966 and WELCOME to the forum. You will find lots of members here who are happy to share their experiences and knowledge with you AND they will also look forward to hearing of your adventures as well.

It is a great time to be getting the kids involved in camping, they will accrue memories to last them a lifetime.

They might even get around to having a forum gathering one day in Vic. Qld seems to be leading the charge there so far.
