I started this thread so guess I better post on it. Here is something a little different you can try in your camp oven. Give it a go.ITALIAN STYLE DAMPER FOCCACIASINGREDIENTS
Two cups self-raising flour
Two teaspoons baking powder
Half cup grated tasty cheese
Half cup chopped sun dried tomatoes
Good sprinkling of Italian herbs
Sliced black olives METHOD
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, tomatoes, cheese, herbs together in a bowl. Mix in enough milk to make a soft wet dough. Divide into four portions and place on a well-greased and floured tray. Sprinkle some sliced olives on top and place in a preheated camp oven. Place the oven on a bed of coals and place a good shovel full of coals on the lid.
Takes about 35 minutes to cook.
