Old duck = mum. I think being that I work & live with my parents we have a pretty good relationship and I know that my mum doesnt take "old duck" offencively. If however I was to call her my mother - i'd be near on killed on the spot. Most of the time I reffer to my parents by their first name for professional reasons. Dad gets reffered to as the old fella or the big fella. Both of us sound the same on the phone (even when I was 12 the site boys would call our house on the weekends and couldnt be convinced they were talking to me not dad LOL) so some of our clients who know we are father and son will often as for the old bloke or the young bloke to distinguish between which "Mr Matthews" they want.
A place I'd rather be... Mitchel Road, Bomjinna. Central West Victoria (Jan '08)
