SEQ - Boreen Point, 25 to 27 July 2008

Postby Troyk » Sun Jun 01, 2008 8:28 pm

This will be a low key event and is intended for those looking for a weekend camp away during the cooler months.

Boreen Point is about 20 or so mins north of Noosa. To get there drive north along the Bruce Hwy and take the Pomona turn off and then drive another 20 km to the point.

Google Earth location is 26°17'13.04"S, 152°59'36.92"E which is for the entrance.

I thought the best place to camp is the furtherest point from the entrance as there is a well sheltered area though its a little bit of a walk to the amentities.

We wont worry about any camp oven cook offs, just keep it simple.

Ok a few takers.

There is a bit of information available on Boreen Point. Here is by Amanda viewtopic.php?f=62&t=2579

Just need to make sure we can get some sites with a fireplace.

The campground has toilets, showers, well shaded and is right on the lake edge. Perhaps Alan can bring his inflatable boat

The sites are on sand so you might want to bring some shadecloth and some sand pegs maybe in order.

There is also the Apollonian Hotel which is good for a pub feed.

Depending upon where you are on the coast, about 3 hours PJ, give or take.

Hi Troy

I know you have said Coastal and that is a great idea however you may like to consider The Tweed Valley less than and hour from Coolangatta. Open fires with timber we'll supply, heaps of activities if required (mountain bikes, high ropes, abseiling, canoeing, bushwalking or just enjoying being on the banks of the Tweed River with a good book) and we'll even cater for you at unbelievably great prices for your group.

Book a large enough group and we'll ensure a group discount.

Perhaps check out our advert http://www.takeabreak.com.au/Uki/FarNor ... arning.htm

Regards
