Postby Smileandhug » Thu Aug 07, 2008 4:38 pm

Hi,
Have been given a chescold fridge 60L and have found that the gas and 12V work fine but wont work on 240V. Has anyone got any ideas?? Your help is appreciated.

In all honesty it could be a number of things.

I suggest sending it in to get a once over from a repair centre. I know its probably not the responce your after but for about $80 to have it given the once over I think its money well spent - I had mine (cf-80 12/24v fridge) done about 6 months after I bought it and I wish I had done it sooner.

Basically the first point of call id be checking would be the chord - then the internal connections - after that its could be anything.

Hi
THE problem could be as simple as a break in the cord or it could be a burnt out element or faulty thermostat .
HOW EVER, by asking the question you obviosly have little electrical knowledge, any thing 240v is to dangerous to play with if you dont have the knowledge .
Take it to a repairer.

That would be my recommendation too, even if it cost you $150 it is still a very cheap fridge.

Yes I was looking at sending it to a repairer but prior to that I thought I ask the masses out there if they knew something that might be wrong with it. Like some things they have a general fault that is common amongst certain items.. But I thank you for your time in writing your responses. I will keep you up to date what I find out. Take care and have a great day.
