Advice for camping on a slope

Postby jojones » Thu Aug 10, 2006 1:46 am

I camped on a slope last week for 7 nights and it drove me mad! Lovely site, and we were lucky to pitch on the gentlest part of the slope, but I still found it really uncomfortable despite having a thermarest. Any tips for levelling out a sloping bed?

A shovel :armsup Or if you can't do that I find it best to sleep with my head uphill.

Ditto ... hills are always bad as no matter how much you try to stop yourself from moving you always end up scrunched at the bottom of the tent.

Get a camper trailer ... :?#

A big wooden board, with smaller pieces to level it up 8)
Only really works if your sleeping one or 2, or else you need to carry alot of board

Stretcher and pack the legs

Hammock

Or my favourite(and Scols), a camper trailer. Once you level the tailer (only have to pack one wheel, front and back are adjusted with the jockey wheel) then you have a level bed and kitchen. :armsup
