I'm a newbie too

Postby barnesy01 » Wed Sep 17, 2008 12:17 pm

Hi all,
Family of 5 up North Qld way. Been camping since i was a boy. Got my family into it about a year ago, now they want to go all the time.

We vary our trips from hiring camper trailers and doing the van park thing, to using our own equipment to remote locations and mostly National Parks.

I have been enjoying this website for several weeks, excellent tips.

Hope to speek to you often.

Welcome Barnesy
I'm new to this forum too
Yet not new to camping.
I lived in Cairns for 3 years.
There's a lot of great camping around up there.
Looking forward to using some long service leave and seeing it all again.

:hello: Welcome Shane,

What part of NQ you from. I moved down from Innisfail about 16 or so years back. Only been back twice since and not for some years. I do miss it though. Lots of beaches, rivers, creeks and no traffic.

Richard,
Live in Cairns. Innisfail has changed heaps. Cyclone Larry made a mess of the place, most of the old building are gone.

I still have family down that way. (The Mayocchi's)

I know of a Henry Mayocchi up that way. He was a mate of the brother-in-law (last name Stevenson). His young fella lives in Maryborough just down the road from where the brother-in-law now is. Mabe they're the same Mayocchi's.
