When I was in Hill End back in April this year I saw a Furphy camp oven in the window of the Camping/Fossicking store, it looks like it has "20" on top of it?

No I didn't :$ we were sheltering from the rain under the awning of the shop & I spotted it in the window & snapped a pic with my camera phone, I did post about it in my report back in April.

I just rang the Royal Hotel in Hill End, he gave me the number for the camping store but it came up as disconnected, so I rang him back & took my number & he will get the shop owner to ring me back when they open the store later today ;)

What a coincidence..

Just finshed watching the latest 4WD Action DVD.
Roothy is visiting Hill End.
He is walking past the camping store and what do I see in the shop window.

That 20" Furphy at the the top of this topic.

Bet it's not there now.

I still have not had them ring me back yet!, I rang the NPWS info centre & they gave me the number for the store, which I rang a few times but got no answer, I left a message on there as well, I think the store is only open on weekends & holiday's.

I may try ringing again this weekend, or I will ring the pub back & see if he can tell me if the oven is still there ;)

Me too ;) might even be tempted to go through Hill End on my way out west in a couple of weeks time so I can buy the Furphy (if it is still there) & sell it to the highest bidder :*** :*** :*** :booty (discount for Camping.com.au forum members ;) )

I received a phone call back from Northies camping & fossicing store in hill End over the weekend...... sadly they told me that it is no longer for sale, in the ladies words "Furphy no longer make that model, so we decided to withdraw it from sale" :(

Oh well, better luck next time

I wouldn't be surprised if that oven goes for sale on ebay.

The price they'll get there will be a lot more than the tag it had on it at Hill End.

Hey,
Just a heads up saw about 3 or 4 of these for sale on ebay the other night all around the $150 mark. No idea what size or anything but just thought i'd let you know they are there.
