Which book to buy?

Postby New_to_this » Tue Sep 30, 2008 11:26 pm

Ok so i am after guides/books/maps for camping in victoria.
So am i better off getting a general one like this
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CAMPING-BOOK-CAMPING-GUIDE-TO-VICTORIA-BRAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ230257573227QQihZ013QQcategoryZ2020QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

I have also heard mention in the posts about and R4 book or something? Not sure what it is or where to find it.

Or do people find it easier to choose where you are going and then buy a map or guide more specific to that area?

Any help apperciated coz at this point we are looking at just getting in the car and driving (but i like to have some idea of where i am going)

The book is "Camps 4", and although a little expensive well worth it. It's sold at most camping stores, or you can get it on line at http://www.campsaustraliawide.com/
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

You can also purchase the Camps Australia Wide 4 book at you local auto club and get it at a discount price if you are a member. They also have accommodation guides for caravan parks etc which are free to members.

It is probably not listed on their website but will be in their office. If in doubt give them a ring.
