Hi Everyone,

I'm Trish and am so glad I found this site! I am starting to plan a trip around Australia for my hubby and 2 kids (aged 7 and 6). I am going to need all the help I can get as I will be preparing this mostly on my own as hubby has had a stroke and now is unable to communicate effectively. This is something we have wanted to do for a long time and realise now we should just do it.

We are planning to travel for around 18 months to see all of this wonderful country that we can, although want to be flexible enough to continue if we so desire  No Limits

I am going to start investigating to purchase a 4 x 4 and also a campervan. We are starting from scratch.

I felt relief when I found this site as there seems to so much information here and I can also ask more experienced travellers for thier advice.

I look forward to chatting soon!

Hi Trish
Something interesting i found out whilst in Alice Springs is that i think kids can do school of the air whilst travelling.
R u thinking of doing this or just letting the kids have the time off?
I reckon they should be alright to have time off.
But that sounds like an awsome trip.
If we had full custody of my step daughter we would pack up too and head off.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome!!! :)

It is all very exciting!!!!!

New_to_this: I am very lucky as one of the current teachers said they would support their education long distance for the time we are away and there is always the option of going through a long distance school which seems to be quite common for travelling families. It's such a wonderful opportunity, and what better an education for giving kids. Maybe your situation will turn around...there's got to be a way it can be done!

Anyway thanks for your supportive comments...chat to you soon!

What an awsome teacher your kids must have.
Its nice when teachers will go above and beyond to help
their students.
