Wel it is a year since I last posted on this topic. Just renewed the insurance, same price as last year.

Happy camping.

I just arranged insurance through NRMA. As I already have car and house/contents with them, the cost ended up being $109 a year.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

Hi, we have an "off road" CT full kitchen, w/tank, 18 ft tent with 18 ft annex with a few other mod/acces
we got a quote from QBE and we pay $10 a month for an insured amount of $7500.
The cost will depend on, who drives the car/4x4, how old they are and have they had a claim before,

We have house, cars and all our stuff insured with QBE and they are quick to pay on any claims.

hope this helps.

GIO. From memory 'round $250 to $300pa. I have it auto-deducted from the CC monthly. So it doesn't hurt that much  :)

We have just recently changed to CIL for our camper trailer- the thing that did it for us was that they will cover you where ever you are -does not matter what type of road or non road you are on. Some insurance companies dont clearly state what sort of road you are covered on and it can be a bit confusing. We are into the better safe than sorry and so far really happy with CIL service . I found CIL had way too many restrictions when I tried to insure my CT.....They would only cover one annex for a maxium amount of $2000 and I have 2..a flyscreen one and a canvas one. Both of which cost me more than $2000 each.

They would only pay up to $2000 for the gennie when I have a receipt for $4500. They would only cover it and the solar panels whilst in transit...not at all when I was in camp and set up.

There was more as well but that is the nutz & boltz of it so hopefully that have changed their policy a little since then.

BTW I was insuring my CT for $38,000.00 & they still had these restrictions.
