Goldstream & Kids

Postby Wilko » Tue Oct 14, 2008 10:50 am

Hi All

We pick up our new Goldstream camper on the weekend. Very exdcited!! We have an 8th month old who is starting to crawl and pull himself up on things.

What can we use on the spare bed to stop him falling out that is of a decent height that he can't climb over?

A friend of mine has a jayco and they have some mesh thing that clips on.

I have left a message for Kratzman but as yet had not a return call.

Any help is appreciated

I don't have any solution for you, but I just wanted to say congratulations on the new camper. :?#

congrats on the camper... we have a Goldstream too.

Have seen the Jayco safety net but didn't look how it was held in place.

Are you just worried for when he's sleeping?

You can buy a cargo net at Supercheap (about $15) which might be able to be stretched across. The bottom would be easy to fix to the bed runners, but not sure what's up higher to fix the top corners to. Another thing that might be adaptable is one of the plastic contraptions you can buy that slips under a mattress to stop a kid rolling out of bed, but he'd be able to climb over/around one of those. A last thought would be a portacot... might fit under the canvas roof.

hi All

thx for the replies. Did a bit of research and a company called "Dometic" supply all types of caravan supplies. They also supply a "Bunk net" which clips across the bed and is 580cm high.

Can can source them from most good caravan supplies and both goldstream and jacyco supply them as an option.

Will try it out but will pack the porta cot just in case :)
