Most valued personal camping accessories

Tips
Without a doubt the most valued things I have when camping are;

1) Soft travelers sleeping shades to go over the eyes at night( moonlight can be very bright at times and I have trouble sleeping in brightness)
eg:

2) soft foam or silicone earplug inserts, for when I have to camp in a busy campsight. theres nothing worse than listening to everyones late night conversations, and keeping you awake, noise seems to be amplified when camping.

We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home, in towns and cities. -Nessmuk

You won't need the eye covers and ear plugs after a few of these :mrgreen:

I agree with the ear plugs - I take them everywhere I go. In most cases it isn't the people at other campsites that keep me awake - it's usually someone snoring heavily in my own camp that keeps me awake - and this is usually due to them having a few too many of Redback's brew!
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

I subscribe to the same theory as Baz, nothing like a few Reds before bed to block out noise!

Have to agree with Beau. I couldn't camp without my eye mask and earplugs. Earplugs are great to block out other noisy campers late at night. The mask keeps out the morning light if I want to sleep in.

BUT I really value my hammock. Nothing better than laying in my hammock with a drink and a good book.

I find that the canvas on our camper-trailer is so good that it doesn't let much light through. I often lie awake in the morning wondering what time it is to find that the sun is already up. I don't find a problem with sounds, maybe I'm going deaf!!

My favourite accessory when camping is a good book. I don't read much at home, but love it when away camping.
