Northern NSW XMAS camping - help needed

Postby thompsons » Sat Nov 01, 2008 6:55 am

Daughter is off to camp at Lennox Head in early January and hubby and I want to tent camp somewhere within an hour of there, preferably somewhere not like a regimented caravan park, more like flat rock.

I know, they're already booked out.

It seems we've left it too late to book, but if anyone can suggest a little known place that might sound like the above, we'd appreciate it. Doesn't necessarily have to be beachside - even inland a bit next to a river or stream could be nice.

Thanks.

Have you tried Broken Head?
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

Try Wood Head, near Iluka. It is a national park on the beach. My family camps there every year for a week or two.

thanks for both those tips guys.
i tried broken head and they had a few VERY tiny spots left.....but I don't fancy being a sardine.
woody head looks beautiful - am watching a few YouTube clips of it as I type.
will definitely put that one on the 'to do' list.
as luck would have it, we did get a cancelled spot at flat rock for a week, so we're all happy.
can't wait! :armsup

I'll have to catch up with you for a Christmas drink - I'll be at Flat Rock over Christmas too! What site will you be on?
