Found hole in inflatable air bed - Best way to repair?

Postby Vic Explorer » Tue Nov 18, 2008 11:16 am

Hi has anyone found the best way to repair a small puncture in an air bed?

I have heard bike repair kits are good. PVC primer and cement and Polyurethane Glue.

Any tried and tested solutions very welcome.

Thanks

They do have air mattress repair kits i believe, But i think they would be the same as a bike one although bie tubes are made of different material to blow up matresses i would think. I would go that method, Maybe some REALLY good tape may do the trick for afew nights?

My advice....throw it away and bite the bullet and buy a self inflating mattress. You will never regret it.

Hi Vic Explorer,

The best way to fix it is to go to a camping/fishing store and ask for a product called AQUA SEAL, it is glue the sets thick and puts a plastic bonding over the hole. It is what all the fisherman use on waders, it is the best!

Thank you for your help and suggestions. Yes, when the airbeds have had it we're planning to get fold out camping beds instead.
