TREK 31 TOURIST PARK
Corner of Hume Highway and Catherine Crescent
North Albury, NSW, 2641http://www.albury.net.au/~tim/altrek3.htm
Stayed 2 nights Fri 14th & Sat 15th November. 2008
Cost us $27.00 per night for a Camping site
2 Adults & 1 child 21 months old
Which I thought was a bit overpriced for an unpowered camp site,
but one park we stopped at before this one had no camping sites and another
wanted $31 for a shoebox sized piece of gravel and grass, so it was comparitively a bargain
The Lady at reception was friendly & helpful
Whole park was a bit dated and in need of some maintenance and
a general cleanup, mow lawns, rake leaves. splash of paint here and there etc.
Mostly Cabins, Drive through & Ensuite sites with 2 grassed camping areas.
We were shown the map and told we could setup anywhere in either of the 2 camping areas.
Camping area where we set up was full of Bindii, which made setting up the
tent more of a pain than usual and meant shoes needed to be on all the time.
Toilet/Shower/Laundry block next to us was clean & functional
Several BBQs around
Used the large BBQ area near the Pool / Playground, was hard to light them
and one of the BBQs let flames out toward the user.
Camp Kitchen had 2 fridges, plenty of tables & chairs was clean enough
but sink had no plug and tap water was quite brown.
Bins outside were not emptied and smelt.
Didnt use the swimming pool but others were enjoying it
The Toddler pool was not open (which we probably would have used)
Childrens Playground was quite dated and our little one lost interest pretty fast.
TV Lounge had 2 old sofas and a tiny 14 inch TV with horrible reception.
But was able to follow the cricket match
Didnt check out the games room.
Being situated next to the Hume Hwy, traffic noise was there but not enough bother us.
Despite its problems we used the park as a base to do day trip/ sightseeing
and for this purpose it was quite adequate. It wouldnt be the best place to stay
if you wanted to hang around the park all day for days but if all you wanted was a
nice shady spot to read a book then you would be in luck as there were plenty of trees.
Compared to other caravan parks we have stayed in Trek31 rates somewhere in the middle
We would probably check out other parks in the area before deciding wether to stay there again.
Only a couple of photos.
