Xmas 4wd Wheelin/Camp - The Springs - 26-30 Dec 08

If anyone is interested in doing some wheelin/camping at The Springs at Xmas, you're welcome to tag along.

I have booked for 26 - 30 December. You can either book for yourself or send me a PM confirming that you'll be there and i'll add you to our group.

Please Note
This is not a club run!
There will be NO organised 4wd tours!
Self recovery expected - help when needed.
Alcohol will be drunk, and there will be swearing.

If our vehicles don't break on arrival, we will be look for some hard stuff to drive. Most tracks are easy so if you have a stocker you can still get around. We will probably end up in "play areas", where we just muck around on rocks or whatever we can find.

BYO everything!

The Springs has flushing toilets and showers.

Here's some info on The Springs
http://www.thesprings4x4.com.au/

Price per day/night/vehicle $35.00

I have recently done a few mods to the zuke and this will be a bit of a test run. A mate will be there in his zuke aswell, he has some new crawler gears to test out.

Here's a pic from last months test.

I think you may have picked the wrong forum for this mate, maybe Outers or 4WD action would be better

I would love to go there, (bit too far for us) i had a play at Rover Park a while ago and enjoyed that, we drove past The Springs on that trip on our way to a wedding in Melany, if it's anything like Rover Park it should be a fun place.

Have fun, Baz.

Yeah it's pretty good. There's not as much "extreme" stuff as Rover Park, but it's not too bad and isn't as far to drive from Brisbane. I have only been there once so it's good because it's all fresh tracks to me.

You don't have to be in to the "extreme" tracks to have fun there. There was plenty of stockers there last time. Most of the place is suitable for stockers, but atleast you have "silly" options in places.

yes Steve, good idea, a few members have 4x4s and even though they dont do the extreme stuff the facilities and camping grounds are great. Im sure lots would enjoy just the camping and lots of these places are 2 wheel drive access anyway. Alan

Janowen Hills is one i'd highly recommend for you aswell. Very nice people run the place and have nice camping areas. Not a very big property but plenty to play on.

Seems like the perfect place, more catering to family weekends and gatherings with a bit of everything, i didn't want to try the really hard stuff at Rover Park, knowing my luck i would have broken something

It's a long way home.

heyas, bit of an update..

Looks like we have few suzukis, a couple of Tuff Truck Cruisers and Patrols, and possibly "Spartacus" Rocky from Outerlimits. Maybe 8 vehicles so far.

Should be some good wheelin. I'm looking forward to getting some good shots on the new camera.

PS. I understand it's not really a "camping" theme, but i figure all content here might be interesting to someone
