I went up to Borumba Deer Park for the night as my cousin invited me up to drink beer around a camp fire. It's a pretty good camping ground with spaces for big caravans and you can even drive your caravan or trailer down beside the creek and set up camp. The creek comes down from Borumba Dam and is apparently pretty full so there's a good flow to the creek. They have canoe hire at the park but i don't think you can go too far up and down the creek, probably a few hundred metres but that's probably ok for the kids. ... and there was kids everywhere, i think it's the place to go if you have kids. I didn't see it but they have a big playground there with all the good old fashion dangerous swings and whilry things that we use to have when we were kids. I had all my cousins kids in the back of the ute and we cruised up and picked up some firewood from the supplied free firewood pile. I think it's one of those places that you can do what ever you want within reason ofcorse.
I assume they have deer feeding time for the kids but i didn't pay much attention to that as i was just there to drink beer around the fire.
I would recommend it to anyone with kids that want to go to a pretty safe but carefree place. The creek looked awesome, but is a bit too cold to swim in this time of year.
Took me 1 1/2 hours to get there from Recliffe
$8 a night for an adult ( don't know any other prices )
They have toilets, showers, free firewood
