Where to go?

Postby Haseotod » Fri Oct 31, 2008 11:46 pm

me and a group of friends are looking for a camping spot to go to from the Nov 28th- Dec 4th we were looking for a place in NSW within a few hours of sydney, the thing is we are looking for a place with toilets, showers and were we can make as much noise as possible which would prob mean a place with no rangers..hahaha. If anyone could suggest a place that would be great :D

I had to laugh: :***

Is there any wonder THIS question wasn't answered! I laughed more when I re-read the Subject line! Deliberately noisy campers? They can go . . . to a nightclub, to the middle of the dessert. Evidently, no fellow campers were about to recommend they destroy the peace of any campsite.

At least they were upfront about intended behaviour! It's these places most of us want to avoid, so if anywhere does get suggested, we can add that to the 'don't go there' list! :)

It turns out they were given some advice: http://forum.camping.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=3047.

But you're right, at least they were up front & that's good.

There's plenty of sites around sydney that meet that criteria, and whats wrong with going camping and making a lot of noise if your not bothering anyone else? At least their not planning to set up camp in the middle of a family caravan park.

Check out Newnes State forest in Lithgow, or Mt Wattagans on the central coast for a start. Plenty of secluded places you can find there where you'll be on your own.

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem provided they truly aren't "bothering anyone else". I, and most other campers I believe, feel very differently though if people are chilled out listening to nature and a group comes in destroys it.
