People have done it in swags for quite a while. If you've got one with a mozziet net, just string it up with the ends open so the canvas is off you and you've got a breeze. Covers all bases.

Definately swag with mossie net. By April you shouldn`t see much rain.

That's the one I'm planning on getting when I'm down in Sydney next month, has mesh built in at both ends.

Or you can just buy generic mozzies nets to hang from a tree or pole or whatever, if you've already got a swag. Most camping stores will have something.

thanks guys i think i will go with my original idea. i have got my eyes on a swag that has a fly the full length, type of dome swag,i think its a woodland.
also is there any type of lists or hints on the forum on what will be helpfull things to take on a camping trip when you are doing a trip with minimal stuff.

There's been a few threads on that sort of topic but darned if I can remember where to find them.

Basically you just got to think about it a little harder when your packing, and ONLY pack what you KNOW you will need, not what you think you'll need, or might need.

And if your going with a bunch of mates, work out beforehand what your each taking so you don't double up on gear - ie, only one hotplate, one esky, etc.

After living in NT for 2 years i would say: Cotton long sleeve shirt while camping out for protection from sun and BIG mozzies. The flys in some places drive you nuts, the hats with net that covers your face are a good investment.A good water cooler.
