Kids & Mums

Postby lorichevy8 » Thu Jan 15, 2009 9:13 pm

Hi,

My husband and I have a camper trailer which we will be christening 20/21 March at Neurem Creek Bush Retreat. Anyone is welcome to come along. I'll post the details if anyone is interested.

The reason though, for this post is that I have a husband who doesn't particularly like camping in the warmer months of the year but my 5 year old son and I just love camping any time of the year. To this end I have picked up a four man dome tent and am intending on taking a few little overnight treks with just my son and myself to a few not too far destinations.

Please let me know if you are in a similar position as it would be nice to have someone else to share a cheeky chardonnay with once the kids are tucked in of course. This is strictly an invitation for females as my husband wouldn't be too keen on me spending a weekend away with another man.

I'm sure there are some single mum's out there who like to camp and wouldn't venture out on their own.

Cheers
Lori

P.S. sorry forgot to mention that I will probably be travelling to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or hinterlands etc.

Great idea Lori and good on you for getting out there and doing in spite of the fact that hubby is not so keen. There are a few single mums on here so hopefully you'll get some camps happening.

Derek,

I think we shall be fine but thanks for the offer...although as you are such an excellent cook with that camp oven of yours I could possibly reconsider. It would be nice not to have to cook at all and even better having a man doing it.......just joking...

Lori, I often camp with a small group of friends and the men in that group often do the cooking....the worst of it is...we women have to clean up after them & I can tell you they sure know how to make a mess.

I can agree with you there. I have experienced exactly the same thing. Some times it's just easier to do it yourself.

Don't want to hijack Lori's thread here but this has given me an idea. Maybe I could expand my Camp Oven Cooking In Australia business to include catering for campers. :cheers

I am sure there are some groups who would be over the moon at that suggestion Derek. A fully catered camp...I can see the cogs turning already....

PS apologies to Lori too....

Hi there.

Yep, sole parent with a seven year old princess....

Would love to do a trip with other like minded people. I have a four wheel drive (well a pretend one - it's an x trail) that has never seen dirt. I would love to go somewhere like Tin can bay if anyone is interested.

Hi Louise,

Tin Can Bay may be a little far for me. I have a Honda Jazz although I could probably convince the Hubby to drive it for a weekend and I can take the Holden Rodeo.
