Stubbsy,

Try the Buckland Valley.....I found this on a Bright accommodation info website.

Apart from the numerous commercial camping/caravan parks throughout the Shire, opportunities exist for camping in surrounding State Forest and National Parks for those seeking to be closer to nature. Please note that some areas are closed or inaccessible during winter and early spring and at other times for various reasons. More information and leaflets are available from the Parks Victoria office in Bakers Gully Rd Bright. (Open weekdays 9-5pm) Phone: 03 5755 0000

BUCKLAND VALLEY STATE FOREST
Camping is permitted between the gravel road and the Buckland River (mind private property) beginning 6km upstream of the Buckland Bridge. Please locate your camp at least 20m from edge of rivers and creeks.
When's my next holiday??

If thinking about a caravan park would suggest Harrietville. Lovely little park in a great setting. Friendly people and facilities are ok. Have stayed there and will be back later this month

I love driving through Bright in Autumn - an awesome sight.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

Biggest in the southern hemisphere, I think?

I went to Bright on a day tripfrom Albury, there is a network of bike trails in the area, I did plan to go back there one day & take the family riding along the trails.....

we ended up in freeburg for 2 nights and it was great except for setting up the tent in the rain on friday night.

Saturday was perfect weather so went to the trout farm with the kids and caught lunch. after that we hung around the park with the kids playing with other kids and taking the kayak down the river.

was a top spot and everyone there was super friendly.
