Its unusual for us to get so many in one hit :? Hasn't happened for a while and hopefully doesn't for an even longer while again.

I also got excited until I saw all the new posts where from the same user :--?

Is there are "Report post" feature available on this forum?? That would help significantly with dealing with the scum.

I'm blind as a bat so to speak. Every forum that I visit has the "Report Post" button located on the left in the user profile - not stuck across the Simson Desert on the right.

Float or rub around a bit more scrubber. A lot of the forums I visit have a 'notifiy moderator' in the top right hand corner. & there may be other words used for the same function, but I can't think of them right now.

It never is pleasant and with pix now

I wonder why there is no two-step process for newies ... just confirming a link to an email address is not useful to block spammers. Applicants should be requested to introduce themselves in their private-to-the-moderator-only application. Applicants also need to say something about their camping experience and why they want to join. That is the way of it for the Australian Native Bee email group and finally after a spam onslaught, applicants need to direct their request to the moderators on the Brisbane Local Food forum.

Once a forum is open slather, that info would get sold, re-sold and sold again and again all around the world just as email addresses do.

The sooner some filter is applied and/or applications are individually vetted, the sooner we will get back to being a camping forum.

Appreciating the job of moderator/s and that they have other things to do with their lives, I am prepared to offer my services on a rota for vetting applications.

Yes the spam is a little over the top and I have been getting rid of is as soon as I see it....but the more people comment on it the more we will continue to get it.

I personally think it is best ignored....yes report it if you feel the need but either way rest assured it will be deleted pretty quickly once I am online or any of the other mods for that matter.

I also recommend that you do NOT click on any of the links contained in any posts you think might be spam.
