I have previously added a report on The Anchorage, however after visiting on the weekend I felt I needed to update the info a bit.
The Anchorage is pet friendly, and as usual dogs need to be on a lead at all times. They even have two pet friendly cabins for hire! There is also a great dog beach a short drive away. Amenities include very well maintained toilet and shower block, excellent laundry facilities, and a large camp kitchen with two BBQ's, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots and pans etc. There is a covered playground for the kids as well as a pool and spa.
What I didn't know before is that the unpowered section of the park allows contained fires, and there are some great unpowered spots overlooking the river.
The cost of powered and unpowered sites are the same which is a little unusual, and makes the unpowered sites expensive in my opinion at $29 per night, however this rate is for up to 6 people so is OK for a family group.
Overall, a very well run park with good facilities, friendly management, in a lovely little town.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!
