Ok, looks like you've done this before Brett... but for the newbies (me!!) can you tell me how the set up in the 4th pic is achieved?
Is it just shade clothed?

And I just have to say,
the shot of the incoming waves...

What a great view!!!

Cheers,

Yer mate its just shade clothed with my own eyelets put in to it. Very eazy to do and just gives you a little bit of protection. And the photo turned out very well but the weather was the best we have had up there in years so just about every day was like that.Only one bad day where it rained all day and all night.

Sunset on Lake Greeson

Image We are back, we had a great time.Image
Lake Greeson is one of the most beautiful lakes we have ever been on. Our Campsite
was on a cove in Kirby Landing Recreation Area, Arkansas Ozarks/USA. The Campground is really
pretty. We enjoyed our morning coffee watching the sun come up over the cove. This was our
first camping trip of the season and we really enjoyed ourselves. This was also Chelsie's (Our Camp Dog)
first camping trip. She had a ball. She did well on the dog run and camped under the Tentrax at night.
She seem to enjoy the canoe ride we took her on as well.

We would like to thank Larry & Betty (Mountainborn & Butcherknife-ORCC Members) for hosting
this outing. We really enjoyed camping with you guys and for being such great host/hostess.
Betty is the BEST camping cook ever. Her fried catfish was mouth watering, delicious! Image We never
went Catfish Jug Fishing before, what fun. Larry thanks for taking us out Boating/Fishing,
we enjoyed ourselves. Now we know all about Catfish Jug Fishing. If you are very disappointed
about missing this trip, there is always next year. Same Beautiful Place, Same Time of Year & Same
Great Folks.

Larry organized the trip with three camping forums: Oliver, Casita & ORCC. Some folks that attended,
belongs to more than one forum. Here is everybody who attended while we were their.

  • Larry & Betty (Mountainborn & Butcherknife) from Arkansas/USA
  • Glenda & Jeff (Palleterra=Glenda & Jeff) from Missouri/Kansas Area/USA
  • Chuck & Jerri (Tumbleweed & Earth Dance) from Florida/USA
  • David & Rachael (DavidandRachaelF) from North Carolina/USA
  • Aubrey (Junior Bird Man) from Texas/USA
  • Alan & Chris (YouAndI) from Missouri/USA

Absolutely fantastic YouAndI. Thoroughly enjoyed the slideshow. Looks like a beautiful place.

It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.

I got to try out a new tent on the weekend while camping on Moreton Island. It is one of these 3 second tents and it was going cheap at the Gold Coast camping show a month or so ago. It wasn't too bad, although because it is only a single layer construction (no fly) it did have a bit of condensation inside when the temperature got a little cooler outside. It will be fine for a quick one night stand but I prefer my OzTent for longer term trips.

Jeff, nice overnight set-up there. What is the black box looking thing beside the tent with the water bottle on it.

That box is essentially my kitchen. I carry plates, cutlery, cooking gear, cutting up board, etc. in there and it is very easy to move to and from the car, that way I always have everything I need for lunch while away from the camp site on a drive.
