Camping.com Christmas Get Together

Postby amanda » Wed Oct 14, 2009 9:28 am

Last year we attempted to have a Christmas Get Together in SE Qld, however we really left it too late and most people were already committed elsewhere for the date chosen and it never went ahead, so I'd like to start planning a picnic/BBQ day for this Christmas. I've just bitten the bullet here as far as date and venue go, and I'll just cross my fingers and wait to see if any of you can make it. So here goes:

Date: Sunday 6th December
Venue: Winders Park, Duringan Street, Currumbin (easy access just off the M1)

There are electric and wood fires available in the park for anyone wishing to BBQ. The park is located on Currumbin Creek and has a safe little swimming beach for the little ones, and canoes and kayaks can be hired nearby.

So let me know if you could be a starter!

No, it is just a park GL. I thought with it being in December when so many people are gearing up to head off for school and Christmas holidays it might be easier for people to make it to a day trip rather than an overnight camp.

My idea was that if anyone wanted to have a couple of drinks and stay over they could, I was not thinking of a camp as such.

Never mind, it was just a thought.

Yep, in my diary as well. If I remember correctly Amanda it was only you and me who were able to attend last year. Hopefully we can get some more this time.

All going well I should be able to rustle up a few treats in the camp ovens on the day. Wiull wait ans see how many are coming.

Just wanted to bump this back up to see if there's any interest, as it's just over a week away, so we need to make a call as to whether to go ahead or not.

Damn ... I have a birthday to go to on the 6th

(Nothing to do with the fact that it is 1,796 km away)

I live only a few minutes away in Palm Beach so I guess I don't really have an excuse not to be there :)

What time will everyone be arriving ?

Bye Jeff.

I hadn't really got down to the finer details like times etc - I was waiting to see if we had enough to go ahead, but as a rough guide I'd say midday if we get it underway.
