So I bought the mistral bar fridge from Big W on sale last week and tried it out over last week while I was camping.
It seemed to keep everything in the fridge cold and froze ice bricks and ice blocks in the freezer section. I found that as long as I put items directly on the freezer tray, things froze. I did find that I couldnt stack things to freeze but once frozen it seemed ok. I froze some meat including sausages and mince - I flattened the mince down a bit to help with freezing. I don't reckon ice cream would stay frozen but that's ok. My son likes to walk to the shop after dinner to get a proper ice cream/ice block.
I can't remember if this next question was answered somewhere before so I'll ask again. Does brand name mean anything when it comes to bar fridges or are you just paying for the priviledge? I noticed that some of the known brand names had longer warranties but you also pay more. Any thoughts?
Oh and being the whimp I am
I bought a little foldable four wheeled trolley (from bunnings) to wheel my fridge around on. Works well cos it keeps the fridge off the ground too.
