I am not sure COSY is what you'd want in this heat PJ..... Have a great one either way.

That is a bit strange especially when by all reports the first couple went off really well. Not sure what the problem is or why for that matter.

We've postponed this event for lack of numbers - hopefully we can get a few more starters in the New Year sometime.

Yes we had two quite good get togethers, the third was so so and they went down hill from there :? Not sure why I think I need to be a little more proactive with it all. I think in the new year we will try and organise another one. Generally the kids all seem to have a blast so we may try and make it a bit more focused on kids activities.

If another one is organised, I'd love to work it into my calendar. I tend to organise longer holidays 6 months in advance, and SE Qld sounds like a perfect spot.

I haven't checked out this section of the forum yet... cool!

Well perhaps if we actually plan it six months in advance we might get a few starters - leave it with me! Meanwhile, if anyone has any great suggestions - let me know. For starters though, to suit the majority of people, I think we probably need the following:

- Toilets and showers
- Family friendly
- Pet friendly
- Relatively low cost
- Fires permitted (it will be winter)

So hit me with some great ideas people!

Location will be another one to consider Amanda.....what's ideal for one may not be for the next.

I would also suggest a long weekend as opposed to a standard one and in a location that was not over crowded.

I personally have been to Andrew Drynan Park on the Lions Road south of Beaudesert for a considerable number of camps and gatherings....good campground overall and highly recommended.

Flush toilets
pet friendly (no fees)
family friendly (wide open spaces - no playground)
swimming
campfires allowed (BYO firewood or purchase on site)
reasonable costs
2WD accessible
non potable water

Consider this one my suggestion......

Another couple of handy features are: accessible by 2 wheel drive vehicles and preferably not having to drive down that gold coast highway;
240v power.

I like the look of Gypsy's suggestion and SEQ will probably be more central for those of us on the east coast. Damn our country is big! ::)

What date are you thinking Amanda? October long weekend or something like that?
