Need help choosing a smoke oven...

Postby mini_27 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 5:43 pm

Hi everybody, I am hoping people can give suggestions/comments for a portable smoker oven. I would prefer a stainless steel model.

I haven't come across very many while looking on the net. The Nipper Kipper seems to be the most popular (and coincidentally are made in my home town). Can anybody comment on their experience with using the Nipper Kipper?

I have also come across this one by Mojiko: http://www.mojikofishing.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=115&category_id=47&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=8. Does anybody know anything about them? Good or bad?

Thanks in advance to anybody who has any comments which might help me.

Southern Metal Spinners make a portable stainless steel one. Here is a link. http://www.southern-metal-spinners.com. ... er_new.htm

I have one of these and regularly use it to smoke fish.

Here is a recent pic from my last trip to Fraser Island where I smoked four tailor for a lunch meal.
