Camping at Alexandra Bridge

:*** Hmmmmm, been there.
Whilst the pics look good, and maybe even Google Earth depict the place in excellent light, there's no doubt about it, on site inspections really are the best arbitrator.
This site is a nice camping place no doubt about it, BUT ! when we were there to check it out, there were no less then 6 caravans parked throught the place and FIVE of them had generators running the whole time we were there.
Never saw another living soul though, maybe they all locked themselves up in their vans and were watching the latest on their satilite receivers ?
The toilets/showers (actually, now I think of it, didn't see any showers) were of a very poor standards and could be improved especially when a fee is charged for camping there.
Our visit was during off season, but going by the looks of the place, I'd suspect it gets heavily used during the season.
The river is slightly brackish and there are fish in abundance therein. Potable water is available.

Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations.
