G'day from the Riverina

Postby Otto » Tue Oct 31, 2006 7:24 am

Hi, I am Otto from Griffith, NSW. Ex South African, and its just me and the wife. Have camped a bit in the dark continent, and a few places in NSW, Vic and SA. After we forgot our tent poles on our very first camping trip in Oz, we bought a double swag in Mt Gambier (SA), and has never looked back since, it's the best bloody invention for camping ever!

We use my work car for camping - A Subaru Forester, so we dont go into very rough places, and my ideal for camping is to set up as fast as possible, so that I can get the fire going as fast as possible, and open the first bottle of wine as fast as possible.

Another swag person :armsup woot :armsup

I'm visiting in Leeton early dec and flying back to Sydney from Griffith. There's some useless info for you :shock: :mrgreen: . Do you know any people with the last name Mackintosh in Griffith? Some of my friends family live there (actually, they have family everywhere :lol: )

And welcome to camping.com.au ::)

Some of the best camping i ever did was in a swag. We bought the kids some swags recently and they love them too. It's great when it's too cold for them to get out and annoy you.

Only problem I have with them nowadays (getting older) is the mattress isn't thick enough!
Back is getting shagged. I'm not an old poster on this forum - BUT welcome to OZ!
I too am of foreign shores. Love oZ. Can't go camping in Ireland it too bloody cold and boggy all year round.
Any man, in the right situation, is capable of murder. But not any man is capable of being a good camper. So, murder and camping are not as similar as you might think.
