Hillbilly cooking post

Gday all,

Ive had a look at the Hill Billy cooking post (you drive it into the ground near a fire and hang pans and billys etc off it) and think it wouldnt be a bad investment. I just wanted to know from those that use them, can things be easily swung on/off the heat? I realise the prinicple whereby a pan, the hooks etc stay put due to the the weight, but i just wanted confirmation that they stay at the height when you swing it away from the heat.

Also for those in the know, can you use the frypans with a regular handle or does it have to be the one with a short stubby handle?

Thanks

Yes they do stay at the same height. Had ours for years ,we use it at home on the outside fire as well .
