CAMPING SPOT FOR CT NEAR RACEVIEW, IPSWICH??

Postby Smileandhug » Tue Feb 02, 2010 12:23 pm

Hi all. Hope ya all have a great year and I am after any tips on a camping location/caravan park close to Raceview Hotel, Ipswich for the weekend. Only one I can see is the Ipswich Caravan Park. Is there any other locations close to there?? Thanks Geoff

You could try the Ipswich showgrounds JG....they are definitely closer and probably a good bit cheaper too.

there is a campground out towards willowbank if you cant find anything closer in, unsure of the name but a search for willowbank caravan park should have you sorted.

You can camp in alot of showgrounds. I was just at Kenilworth last week n it was a $2 donation for the hot shower......and Maleny charges still $10 a night.

All compliments greatfully accepted snakey......

Ipswich would have to be the least RV friendly town I have ever come across and they really need to do something about it.

The 2 CPs they have (3 if you count the one at the garage at Amberley) are just the pits and I would not recommend them to anyone.

true that, but its not exactly a place with nice scenery..... maybe thats why i love camping so much :-)

but your right, the caravan parks around here are more for the live in types, and i wouldnt imagine in this area those people are the nicest camping neighbours

Travellers are not necessarily concerned about the nice scenery snakey....they only need somewhere to stop over when travelling from A to B, perhaps do a bit of shopping, have a coffe etc.

haha, good point, but you wouldn't stop at goodna or the showgrounds for shopping or coffee either ;-)

No, but you would park up somewhere if it were available and then go shopping and coffee at Riverlink for example.
