Insect Hat

Postby Finch » Sun Feb 14, 2010 3:15 pm

Hi Everyone.Due to my camping experiences and being constantly annoyed by flies and other biting insects i have had made a bucket hat that has an insect net built into a pouch on the top of the hat.The insect net can be packed away in the pouch when not in use and easily opened when required.I have photos if required. These hats are ideal for camping, fishing, bushwalking and anywhere you require protection from biting insects. The pouch on top is also handy for keeping car keys or similar in while walking or at the beach.Regards Greg. Sounds interesting, Finch.

How about posting a photo on this forum with details on cost and availability?

Is this a different design to the beekeepers veiled hats?

Best regards

Elaine

Hi BTW.Unfortunatly i only have the one colour as i would have cost me a fortune to have different colours made in small numbers.I have plenty of this colour available.

Hi Gareth.I have seen the nets available in the disposal stores for about $8-10.My item includes the hat with sown in net that tucks away in a pouch in the top of the hat.The hats are very good quality and i believe would sell for about $15-18 in the shops if you can find them.I have not come accros these hats with built in net before and i am very happy with the simplicity of having the net available when required. You can even store your car keys and money in the pouch if required.Hope this helps.

I bought a hat recently at BigW I think its Jarvis Walker brand.
It has a built in net but it zips in to the brim of the hat not the top.

I think it was $15 but not sure if that was regular price or on sale price,
So your price is very competitive.

HI.I have not seen these hats in my searches prior to having them made.I was carefull to make sure they are good quality.
I think $10 is reasonable asthey cost me nearly that much to have made and delivered.Anyway they are there if anyone wants one.I can include postage if you order at least 2 at once.
