These are the only photos of our camp at Mystery Bay that I took. Doh! The photos are pretty bad quality, but I wanted to post them because it was the first time ever that I put up a tarp. All by myself!!! I got my 5yo to help at first, but she wasn't strong enough to hold up the poles. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Having 2 trees the right distance apart did help, especially as I lost 2 poles the day before. The tarp was a bit low on one side and sagged a bit in the middle, but it held up well in the rain and I even collected some rainwater to rinse the dishes with.
It was also the first time I used my new Blackwolf Mojave tent and my camp pantry. The first time I had anything that resembled a camp kitchen actually! We rearranged the kitchen when my friends arrived with their stuff. Having to reserve a spot for them was also the reason why the tent is so far away from the tarp. I tried to spread out to deter people from moving in! It did kind of work even if I had to stay at the camp all day on the last day to tell people they could not camp at the opposite side of where we were because our friend were arriving any moment. They were about 3 hours late!
