central coast 'gems'

Postby gems » Wed Feb 24, 2010 6:26 pm

Hi everyone, Im a single mum to 4 gorgeous girls I call my gems! We've been camping a few times around port stephens, anna bay, forster, newcastle area and the central coast usually with my sister's & brother inlaws. After not camping for about a year because I had no idea how to put up the tent by myself & we went overseas twice (spoilt princesses) ;) we're ready to hit the road again.... :+
We're going up to barrington tops for a weekend as a test run then plan on saving for a campervan this year and doing a 2 week trip up the nsw/qld coast in sept.....very excited!! :P

Hi gems and welcome.
If you are going to Barrington Tops there are so many places there and each have their own features. Additionally the season and weather can effect each location. One of my favourite locations is Telegherry in the winter. If you go up to the high areas then winter camping is to many people less desirable as it does snow at times in most winters. Each to their own.

Agree with Beagle, camping along the Telegherry River in Chichester State Forest is our favourite place, not as well known as Barrington / Glouster.

Hi gems and WELCOME to the forum. Your little gems will have a great time camping and make sure you give each of them their own little chores so that they make a contribution as well.

Have a look around the forum and you will find many 'gems' in the form of lots of great info here to help you get into camping again.

thanks for the welcomes everyone!

I got roof racks put on the car on thurs this excited the girls no end, now we can take our roof basket from our old car which means more camping gear! I luv how excited the girls get when we go camping, they remind me of the fun things we can do, like taking photos of each other & having hot chocolate drinks at night
I'm really excited too, cause this is our first trip away on our own and my girls are a tad older now (7,5,4 & 3 yrs) so YES Gypsy the princesses will be helping!! :***
