My recommendation to you would be to purchase the Camps Australia Wide 5 book.....it has many free and low cost camps. If you belong to an auto club then you can purchase it from them at a discounted cost.
This publication is considered the 'bible' amongst all types of travellers and is a valuable addition to anyone's camping gear.
There is also this site to have a look at http://ozcamps.net/
You can also visit your local Tourist Information Centre....they have quite a good range of info for the traveller.....
