Lake Eildon

Postby rxjb » Wed Mar 24, 2010 9:11 pm

Hi all,

First post. Am planning on going to Eildon over the easter break. Can anyone recommend any decent camp sites, one where you are not too close to your neighbours and can have a camp fire on your site.

Also is there any company which allows you to hire a boat on the lake for a small fishing trip??

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I'm in NSW and can't help you much there but I'm sure some of the members from VIC will help you out.

I have not stayed there myself, but a quick google found this on the Parks Victoria page for Lake Eildon National Park

Jerusalem Creek Camping Area
Basic facilities (70 sites) with boat hire and kiosk located nearby. ... m?park=125
Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations.

I suspect anywhere around Eildon will be chocker s this Easter.
So many camping areas still closed due to the recent fires.
I suggest you do some ringing.
Darlington point 5 hours from Melbourne has very few bookings it appears.
Beach type areas for kids on the river.
