Tooloom is on my list for the near future,
I don't know what the fishing is like there, but it is NSW and needs a license. Silly system, should just tax the fishing gear, good luck,- Lew

Thought I'd bump this one again as I am planning a bit of a road trip over the xmas break and Tooloom Falls is on my list to visit.

I have general info from the internet but some first hand comments would be great as well.

Cheers Gypsy.....

We haven't camped there but have stopped in for a look a couple of times. The camping looks ok, not a great deal of space and the only facility is a drop toilet.
We were there on Easter Saturday and it was quite busy with campers and some day trippers. I didn't see anyone fishing so I can't give you any information about that. Dogs are not allowed to camp, I suspect they are not allowed at all but we had our little mutt with us and nothing was said :)

I have just googled Tooloom Falls again and all the info indicates that the campground is pet friendly.....the most up to date info I could find was posted in November 2009.

I wonder if there are signs....are they new ones or old ones and does anyone know who the governing authority is over this campground?? It is not in the NP.

As you come into the campground they have the sign saying Tooloom Falls and then the symbols underneath - with a picture of a dog with a line through it as well as the tent sign and a couple of others. I think it is an Aboriginal Place, so that may be why it is not a national park. I'm not entirely sure if that is the case though.

Thanks Mick...and yet as you say there were campers there when the sign indicates no camping...is that correct??

Did they look like new signs??

There was a no dog icon in addition to the usual camping icon (a tent) which was not crossed out (indicating that people could camp there) under the sign stating that we were at Tooloom Falls. I didn't think that they looked particularly old, they were still legible and quite clear.

hi gypsy i went down to tooloom falls on the weekend & the only sign i could find was this 1

Image

as for the camp ground it is great, the only bad point is aimed at those with small kids. you will need to keep a close eye on them as the cliffs don't have any barriers & it's about a 10 mtr drop.
