Thinking of taking our Caravan to Kangaroo Island next year, around now, any hints?
Your thoughts and experience's are welcome.
We propose to camp in the various bush camps, no power etc.

I visited a few years ago and remember it as a beautiful place to visit. But it seemed very expensive, especially the car ferry ride over, and this would be way more expensive with a caravan. From memory there was some National parks camping areas but I don't remember any free bush camping spots.

Kangaroo Island is great any time of the year. This time of the year can be any weather.
If you go around now you may be able to get the SEALINK Caravans and camper trailers for free and Motor homes 50% off.( these are on selected sailings only ) but its free so take any you can get if not its rather expensive.
They had it this year from 24th Feb to 30th June and am sure that they will have it this coming year. Ph Sealink 131301 and remember to say you want the van for free deal.

The caravan Park at Penneshaw (www.kangarooislandshores.com.au) has reopened after being shut for 6 years (200mtrs from the ferry) They offer Stay 7 nights pay for 5. There are two other caravan parks here on KI one at the western end and the other at Kingscote.

Hope this helps
