I did also have a look XB at the website.....not much to write home about and yes nothing to indicate specific sales....so maybe the message I got was wrong!!

I imagine he'll pop back in and tell us so sometime soon.

Ozoutdoors...Just to clarify the tarp business again (and I'm picking its a very profitable side to any outdoor supplier)...One of the reasons we use a tarp (and its not actually a tarp...its shade cloth)...is to keep the bottom of the tent clean.....also, campers who use a tarp under their tents normally use one smaller than the tent base so that when it rains....the water won't collect between the tent floor and the tarp....

All to their own....I suppose

To tarp or not to tarp????

Pretty easy really, if you want to be comfortable tarp :?#

I camp with 2 teenage girls and we tarp everytime, yes most (and I say most with experience) tents can handle a bit of rain or the od storm but try spending a week in the rain cooped up in a tent or even 2 weeks like we did over xmas, not just a shower here and there but rain more than not.
At Christmas plenty of the tent only people toughed it out, hudling under a 3 x 3 tarp or gazebo, funny they never seemed to be smiling. Under our tarp we played games and entertain other campers who came up for a drink and a bit of time around the fire

Our Oztrail chalet 9 leaks, not heaps but just a drip here and there, in fact every tent we have owned has dripped from some place or other at sometime, including our camper trailer now. Suprising how little water it takes to wet a sheet or mattress.

We put up a 9x7 tarp over the camper, 20 od poles and a spreader bar, our camp takes about 1.5 hours to set up total including the tarp, camper and kitchen. I dont use the wooden or plastic tensioners because they slip and are bulky instead I just tie truckies knots. I also dont use heavy ropes instead I use 5mm cord. The cord is permanently attached to the tarp on the eyelets.

I never put down a tarp but I do put down shade cloth.
